The Journey
Maurio Hines is a native of Durham, North Carolina. He made his debut as Matthew Kumalo in Kurt Weill’s Lost in the Stars as part of the Glimmerglass Festival’s Young Artist Program. Mr. Hines has appeared with Lyric Opera of Chicago in Porgy and Bess, performed as a featured dancer in Hawaii Opera Theatre’s The Flying Dutchman, and appeared in The Mikado with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. Additional stage credits include Oklahoma! with the Denver Center Theatre Company and performing as a backup singer for Josh Groban at Radio City Music Hall. He has also performed with the Metropolitan Opera and will make his Off-Broadway debut in The Little Match Girl.
Mr. Hines holds a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Greensboro College and a Master of Music from East Carolina University.
